There are many definitions for the word bless: The word bless means to salute, congratulate, thank, praise, and to kneel. Bless also means to invoke divine care for, to confer happiness upon, to increase in prosperity.
God is the blesser. He is the one that gives us the ability for living a rich full life.
In John 10:10, the bible says ” The thief does not come except to steal, and kill, and destroy. But Jesus says that he came that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly.”
According to the Strong Concordance # 4053 the word abundantly, perissos (per-is-sos) means superabundance, excessive, overflowing, surplus, over and above, more than enough, profuse, extraordinary, more than sufficient.
The word abundantly describes God’s best for us, He doesn’t want us living beneath our privilege.
In Genesis 12:1-3, The Lord says to Abram, “Get out of your country, from around your family, and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. God said to Abram I will make you a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thy shalt be a blessing: I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curse you: And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
As we examine this portion of scripture we can see that God made some promises to Abram. He promised Abram that He would make his name great, and cause him to be a blessing to others. The first thing God instructed Abram to do was to get out from around his family and go to a place that was unfamiliar to him. The bible says that Abram obeyed, putting his trust and care in the hand of the Lord. He believed what God said, and that He would make it good.
The preceding scripture works in conjunction with Genesis 17:2,6-7. Here God revealed Himself to Abram as El Shaddai, the all bountiful one, the God who is more than enough. God then makes a covenant with Abram. A covenant is a binding contract, agreement, pledge or vow with two or more people. Because of this covenant it was necessary to change his name. In this covenant He promised to make him exceedingly fruitful, make nations of him, and kings should come from him. The Lord promised to establish this covenant between Himself, Abraham, and Abraham’s descendants. Because of this covenant the promises that God blessed Abraham with also belong to us too. God promised to give all believers the blessings of Abraham. The bible says that Jesus became a curse for us so that we might receive the blessing of Abraham. (Galatians 3:13,14). If we can believe it, we can receive. God will not withhold any good thing from us as the seed of Abraham.
According to 3rd John 2, the Lord says He wants us to prosper. This includes prospering spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially, and materially. This is a new season and a new day, a time of restoration. God wants to restore all that the cankerworm, palmerworm, the locust, and the caterpillar has eaten up. This is the time to step out of your comfort zone, forsake that which is familiar, and separate yourself from those things that hold you in bondage. It’s time to leave Egypt.
Your Egypt maybe the mental warfare of doubt, unbelief, tradition, fear, emotional pain, cycles of hardship, or a poverty mentality. Whatever it is, it’s time to shift the atmosphere with your prayers. It’s time to cancel the enemy’s assignment against you, and exercise your rights as a believer by activating your faith through diligently obeying the word of God as it says in Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
It’s time to step out on God’s promise to bless you, and increase you to overflowing. Take the limit off!!! Remember in this season there are NO LIMITS!!! The key to receiving all that God has promised is obedience. God wants to reveal Himself as the El Shaddai in your life, the God that’s more than enough. He wants to make you the head and not the tail. It’s His desire to bless you when you come in and when you go out. Claim this season to be your season of the rain. Ask God to remove the barrenness, decree you are blessed and have favor with God and man. You can have what you say, so prophesy, decree it, and so shall it be established. Receive your increase now, in Jesus name.
Let Us Pray!
The Lord bless you, and keep you: The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen (The Aaronic Blessing-Benediction)
